Scholastic Book Fair

THank you, thank you, thank you!

Our “Arctic Adventure” Book Fair – “Snow” Much Fun!

Our winter Book Fair proved to be an exciting and busy week in the library surrounded by hundreds of books, happy shoppers, and helpful volunteers!

With any school event, there are always many to thank, and Book Fair is no exception.  Thank you to everyone involved: the parent volunteers who helped keep everything running smoothly; the enthusiastic and helpful Student Library Crew who hosted our evening family event; our guest readers on Tuesday evening, Mrs. Bullock and Ms. Vanetti, and our VIP guest, Dog Man; the teachers for bringing classes to tour; and, of course, to all the students and families that came to shop, fulfill teacher wish list requests, and take part in our Book Fair contests.  However, most of all, we want to say a huge thank you to our two fantastic Book Fair co-chairs, Mrs. Van Randwyk and Mrs. Horvath, who spent many hours at the Fair itself and worked tirelessly on publicity and preparations.

The Book Fair is so important to the library.  It is our main source of money, generating funds that we use to replace much loved favorite books, add exciting new fiction and non-fiction titles and restock our library supplies cupboard – every book added to the library needs a barcode, a label and protective covering, and every book repaired uses tape, glue or staples.  But perhaps even more important than financial success, the Book Fair helps us in our mission to encourage and facilitate reading amongst all our students and their families, and we thank each and every one of you for the part you played in furthering that aim.

Thank you, Gators!
