Life Skills at Golden View

Kindness Begins with Me
 

Golden View's Life Skills program is based on the book "Have you Filled a Bucket Today?".  Students receive Life Skills slips when they are caught demonstrating a particular life skill on campus.  Each month we hold a school wide assembly to honor and recognize students.  Here are a list of the Life Skills we work on:

 

August/September:

RESPECT – listen, share and use manners

October:

ORGANIZATION – plan, arrange, and manage your time and your things

November:

RESPONSIBILITY – be accountable for your actions, words and attitudes (relate to CITIZENSHIP)

December:

CARING and EMPATHY – show concern and kindness for others (relate to FAIRNESS)

January:

COOPERATION – work together

February:

HONESTY – do the right thing and tell the truth (relate to TRUSTWORTHINESS)

March:

PROBLEM SOLVING and PERSEVERANCE – keep working until a solution is found

April:

EFFORT and INITIATIVE – do your best

May:

FLEXIBILITY and PATIENCE – wait calmly and be willing to compromise
