Why Join the PTA?

Get Connected

There’s no better way to know what’s happening in your school.

Discover Great Resources

The PTA offers a variety of programs designed for parents as well as students.

Tap into a Network

PTA functions are opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences.

Watch Yourself Grow

By volunteering with your PTA, you put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community.

Speak Up and Let Your Voice be Heard

PTA can be a way for you to more effectively suggest change at your child’s school. When you join the PTA, you also join the California State and National PTA. Membership numbers count in a significant way when our representatives are lobbying for funding for education.

Witness Improvement

By getting involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping make positive changes. Local PTAs play an important role by supporting building improvements through advocacy and play an important role in fundraising for curriculum based programs and social events.

Be a Role Model

By becoming a PTA member, you’ll be demonstrating to your child the importance you place on education.

Benefit your child and help our school

Research has proven that children do better when their parents are involved both at home and in school.  Performance improves.  Self-esteem grows.  School improves.

Help Support our PTA Programs!

As a member, you help support our PTA programs, which directly benefit all Golden View students and families. Some of these programs include:

  • Student Education – Reflections Art Program, Breakfast Book Club, school assemblies.

  • Health and Safety – Red Ribbon Week, Run Club, Field Day, Street Smarts, playground equipment.

  • Community Building – TK and Kindergarten Meet and Greets, Back to School Coffee, Carnival, Movie Night, Family Fun and Games Night.

  • Parent Communications - Gator Gazette.

Join the PTA and keep all of these programs running at Golden View!  Together we can make a difference in our children’s education experience.  You are NOT obligated to volunteer or attend PTA meetings.
